What you’ll do

Reporting to the Category Portfolio Manager, you will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across strategic categories, from sourcing strategy through to contract execution and performance management.

You’ll work across diverse stakeholder groups and play a key role in influencing operational alignment with Thiess’ preferred suppliers and commercial strategies.

What you’ll be doing

Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned to global operational needs
Analyse data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive commercial efficiencies
Build and present business cases to support procurement and sourcing decisions
Lead end-to-end tender processes, including scope development, supplier engagement, and evaluation
Evaluate supplier submissions across commercial, technical, and risk criteria to inform decision-making
Lead commercial negotiations to maximise value while managing risk and compliance requirements
Manage contract execution, including approvals, onboarding, and stakeholder communication
Monitor supplier performance and manage contracts to drive value, mitigate risk, and ensure delivery
Developing and owning relationships

What You’ll Need to Succeed

You are a commercially astute procurement professional who thrives in a complex, stakeholder-heavy environment.

We’re looking for:

Experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management (mining, construction, or heavy industry preferred)
Strong negotiation and influencing capability at multiple organisational levels
Proven ability to manage tenders and supplier relationships end-to-end
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial outcomes
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Law, or similar (preferred)
