Full Job Description

Jax Tyres & Auto Dayton is seeking an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our growing team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and computer systems
Dismantle and inspect engines, transmissions, steering systems, and other components
Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble mechanical components
Perform routine servicing including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups
Test and adjust systems to ensure proper performance
Assist with vehicle inspections and roadworthiness assessments
Respond to breakdowns when required
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Motor Mechanic
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Valid driver licence
