Full Job Description

As a valued member of our team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, you will make a direct impact on the patient experience by preparing and delivering meals that are safe, nutritious, and visually appealing. You’ll work closely with kitchen and food services colleagues in a supportive, patient-focused environment

Position Details

Full-time role: 38 hours per week, across a 7-day roster between 5:00am and 7:00pm.
Must be available to work on 3 weekends a month. (Rotating Roster)
Work Location – Onsite
Pay Rate – $80,000+Super

What you'll do:

Prepare, assemble and produce patient meals in accordance with dietary and food safety guidelines
Ensure compliance with HACCP and Downer Food Safety Plans through accurate documentation and monitoring
Maintain high hygiene standards across food storage, handling, and preparation areas
Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, adhering to approved safety and cleaning procedures
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and uphold Downer’s Zero Harm safety culture and core business standards

What you'll bring:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (essential); Food Safety and HACCP certifications (desirable)
Proven experience in a healthcare or hospital food service environment, including knowledge of texture modified diets
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety principles with demonstrated cooking expertise
Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills
Team-focused, well-presented, and committed to continuous improvement and high service standards
