Primary objective
Manage the Central Australia Sexual Assault Referral Centre Program a high quality best practice, culturally appropriate forensic, medical
and counselling service is delivered to clients in line with National Standards.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Directly manage the Service using sound human resource, financial, information and best practice management principles and

practices to ensure efficiency and efficacy, and to meet departmental and national policy, program and reporting requirements.
2. Provide coordinated leadership with the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) Director, to achieve optimal client outcomes through

the delivery of appropriate and effective sexual assault services consistent with National standards for sexual assault services.
3. Ensure continuing quality improvement with the implementation of standards and best practice frameworks through monitoring,

review and reporting.
4. Facilitate the provision of advice, and information and training on sexual assault issues to the community and Government agencies

to raise awareness, influence policy, and further support victims of sexual assault.
5. Increase the capacity of the community to respond locally to sexual assault issues and liaise with other relevant community services

and health providers.
6. Facilitate the underpinning requirements for SARC response to the individual, through both forensic medical and counselling services.
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Recognised tertiary degree qualification appropriate to the position.
2. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex service program with the knowledge and skills in leadership and management to ensure a

best practice service delivery and education programs to achieve service and organisational goals.
3. Awareness, understanding and experience of work in a cross cultural environment particularly in relation to Aboriginal culture and of

the issues confronting Aboriginal children, adults, families and communities in regard to sexual assault.
4. Up to date knowledge and experience in the application of ethical, legislative and regulatory requirements pertaining to service

delivery and management including Human Resource and Information Management standards within the application of relevant
Northern Territory Government acts and regulations pertaining to administrative, financial, information and human resource
management.

5. Experience and skill in the use of computer applications to support service delivery, research, evaluation and communication.
6. Possess or able to obtain a current Northern Territory manual drivers’ licence.

Desirable
1. Proven experience and advanced knowledge and skills in the management of comprehensive and quality sexual assault referral service.
2. Experience in the provision of sexual assault therapeutic services to children and adults.

that influence health care provision for individuals and groups.
