Full Job Description

Hullbot is an Australian ocean robotics company that develops autonomous underwater robots to clean and inspect ship hulls, helping vessel operators reduce fuel consumption, emissions, and biofouling through proactive hull maintenance.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role at Hullbot is focused on designing and developing autonomous underwater robots used for ship-hull inspection and cleaning. According to the job description, key responsibilities and requirements include:

Main responsibilities

Participate in design reviews and help shape product architecture.

Design mechanical systems, mechanisms, enclosures, linkages, and structural components.

Create and manage complex 3D CAD assemblies.

Build and test prototypes, then transition designs into production-ready products.

Work closely with electrical, software, and robotics engineers.

Contribute to rapid R&D and product development cycles.

Required skills and experience

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.

Strong hands-on product development or R&D experience.

Advanced CAD skills (such as Onshape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or NX).

Experience with prototyping and testing.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacture principles.

Pay: From $11,250.00 per month
