With a commanding land position and clear strategic growth, we’re building something significant and this is your chance to be part of shaping the future of a growing gold operation.

We are currently seeking a Senior Geologist to join our team at the Lord Byron open pit operation. Reporting to the Geology Manager and working an 8/6 roster, this is a unique opportunity to help establish the Open Pit Geology function from the ground up as operations commence. Suited to a technically capable and proactive Senior Geologist, the role offers significant ownership, leadership responsibility, and the chance to shape geological practices within a new mining operation.

As the Senior Geologist, your key responsibilities will include:

Lead and establish the grade control function for a new open pit operation, including design and execution of initial and ongoing GC drilling campaigns
Develop, maintain and continuously improve grade control and geological models, ensuring alignment with mine planning and production requirements
Supervise and mentor Mine Geologists, Pit Technicians and contractors, driving high standards in safety, data quality and performance
Analyse drilling, mapping and sampling data to optimise ore definition, minimise dilution and maximise recovery
Partner closely with Mining Engineers to support short-term planning, reconciliation and operational performance

About You

Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience with strong experience in open pit production environments, ideally hard rock gold
Demonstrated expertise in grade control processes, including RC drilling programs, sampling, QA/QC and reconciliation
Proven experience in geological modelling and data interpretation (e.g. Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, etc.)
Strong leadership capability with experience supervising Mine Geologists and Pit Techs in a production environment
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Mining, Survey and Processing teams to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution
