The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Workplace Learning and VET Support Officers to join our Futures Centre team.
In this rewarding role, you will coordinate and maintain the school’s Workplace Learning program, supporting senior school students to engage in meaningful workplace experiences through both single-day and block placements. Working closely with the VET Coordinator and Career Practitioner, you will play a key role in helping students develop valuable industry skills and pathways to further education, training, and employment.
Key responsibilities may include coordinating workplace learning placements, maintaining accurate student and employer records, monitoring participation and attendance, and managing workplace learning documentation, including logbooks and skills journals. You will analyse enrolment and completion data, prepare reports, and support the ongoing administration of VET and workplace learning programs.
A significant aspect of the role involves building and maintaining strong partnerships with employers and industry representatives. You may conduct workplace visits, undertake site compliance checks, liaise with students and parents/carers, and assist with the selection, induction, and support of students, workplace supervisors, and assessors. You should also contribute to the continuous improvement of workplace learning opportunities by fostering industry networks and identifying new placement opportunities that enhance student outcomes.
In addition, suitable applicants will provide administrative and operational support to the VET Coordinator and contribute to a range of Futures Centre initiatives, including career development activities, industry engagement opportunities, and whole-school events such as Careers Week. This may involve assisting with event planning and coordination, liaising with external providers and employers, and supporting activities that promote career exploration and post-school pathways for students.
Suitable applicants will ideally have experience using a range of school information and database management systems, including Reporting to Parents. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is important, as the role requires the maintenance of comprehensive student, employer, and program records. The ability to effectively manage data, ensure records remain current and compliant, and maintain the integrity of information across multiple systems will be important to success in this position.
