About the Role
We are looking for a Data Centre Manager to join our team and help manage 2 data centres across Western Sydney and North Ryde. This role involves managing the capacity, availability, security of the data centre environment providing 100% availability of data centre services to all clients (managed and co-lo customers ensuring at all times appropriate level of client's management adherence to standard and strict maintenance regime, testing and verification of critical infrastructure.
Location: Greystanes / North Ryde, NSW
Responsibilities:
Audit
- Work with Compliance manager and Compliance coordinator in preparation for all audits.

Ensure each data centre environment is ready for auditing and assist with the auditing process client, internal and external for existing certified sites.

Once audit report (internal/external) is provided, review with the Compliance Manager and Coordinator and provide a summary response with target date for completion.

Ensure all audit findings are agreed and addressed in a timely manner.

Manage the resolution of the audit item/s identified until successful completion and advise Compliance Coordinator of such.
Capacity Management/National processes

Provide appropriate Capacity management for the full data centre environment including floor space, power & cooling systems.

Identify capacity available across the environment and captures monthly stats to ensure that appropriate notice is provided to ensure any potential expansion/upgrades/EOL can be provided/managed in a timely manner.

Capture ongoing appropriate stats to show the growth utilisation of the available capacity in the environment. Identify long lead time items for any upgrade and set thresholds appropriately and once capacity reaches identified thresholds provide appropriate business case and budget for upgrade.

Manage any capacity and business case via the risk register.

Ensure all DC process coordinator to document each activity always working with other DCM to create a best of breed and thus nationalised process providing a cookie cut solution nationally.

Adhere and enforce agreed nationalise DC processes.
Maintenance

Maintain up-to-date asset listing of all infrastructure supporting the data centre environment.

Ensure that all assets have a installation date and thus a EOL
-
Ensure all assets always have appropriate levels of maintenance as recommended by manufacturers and services providers.

Ensure appropriate warranties and maintenance agreements are always in place and current.

Ensure a 12-month rolling maintenance plan is always available.

Provide a detailed monthly plan and ensure that all targeted days are identified and always met.

Ensure all maintenance is via formal change and agreed change process.

Review all maintenance sheets at end of month with facilities personnel and identify and capture all identified issues and recommendations.

All issues and recommendations are to be captured with the DC process coordinator to ensure rectification and resolution.
Security
-
Ensure the confidentiality and security of data is maintained.

Obtain, maintain and promote staff awareness of customer specific security policies.

Ensure all DC staff are conversant in such policies.

Ensure appropriate security control of the facility and manage directly the security team.

Personally adhere to the Fujitsu Australia Security policies to ensure that Fujitsu and customer information and technology resources are protected in line with confidentiality, integrity and availability principles.
Contract Management

Assist National DCM with the ongoing management of all National Agreements with suppliers providing feedback against SLAs Improvement Plans
- Review Improvement Plans register and identify improvements that have not been reviewed within the last six-month period.

Review target dates and identify actions and follow up with National DCM, and update register with appropriate actions.

Ensure all improvements are reviewed annually.
Required Skills:

10 years' experience in managing complex data centre environment and / or electrical or mechanical qualifications.

Project and time management skills.

Excellent communications and negotiation skills, both written and oral

Data Centre SME

5 years or more years of staff management experience.
