About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Special Class Welder, a master TIG and flux core pipe welder for a 3-month fixed-term training engagement based in Perth Metro, WA. The successful candidate will be an accomplished trade professional with demonstrated expertise in GTAW (TIG) and FCAW (flux core) pipe welding to the highest quality standards, who will work alongside and upskill our local workforce throughout the engagement.
The successful candidate will be embedded within our operations team, leading and delivering hands-on training to our local welders across live fabrication projects. Work will include high quality stainless pressure pipes and structural fabrication using TIG, MIG, MMAW, and FCAW welding processes, as well as handrails, balustrades, and pipe supports. At the conclusion of the 3-month term, the candidate will have transferred their specialist skills and knowledge to our permanent local workforce.
Note: This is a fixed-term specialist training engagement only. The position is not intended to be extended beyond 3 months. The successful applicant is expected to deliver the agreed training outcomes and conclude the engagement at the end of the contract period.
Training Program — What the Candidate Will Deliver
Throughout the 3-month engagement, the successful candidate will plan, deliver, and oversee structured on-the-job training and mentoring to our local welding workforce across the following areas:

- Coaching local welders in the interpretation and application of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in accordance with Australian project documentation requirements
- Delivering practical NDT awareness training — including radiographic test (RT), ultrasonic test (UT), and dye penetrant inspection (DPI) protocols as applied on Australian industrial sites
- Mentoring local staff in Australian workplace health and safety (WHS) systems — including SWMS preparation, toolbox talks, hazard identification, and site induction procedures
- Holding a current Construction Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Guiding local staff through site-specific safety systems and emergency response procedures relevant to WA mining and industrial project environments
- Establishing and demonstrating quality assurance and weld documentation practices in accordance with Australian project management and compliance standards
- Fostering effective communication and professional collaboration within a multi-trade Australian worksite environment
