Join the Civmec Team

Civmec has secured a major civil and earthworks package with BHP in the Pilbara and is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Civil to support the safe and successful delivery of this high‑profile project. In this role, you will be part of the delivery for the civil scope, ensuring technical accuracy, construction readiness, and safe execution across all work fronts.

The scope includes construction of a new Car Dumper vault, incorporating piling, dewatering, structural retention systems, associated vault works, and a full FRP concrete package. You will play a key role in driving strong engineering performance — providing technical guidance, supporting supervisors and crews, ensuring compliance with specifications, and maintaining a proactive, solutions‑focused engineering culture.

Roster: FIFO 2:1, including night shift.

The Role

Attend operations meetings and preparation and issue weekly status reports including work schedules
Review and approve technical deviation & query requests and maintain the register
Take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances and maintain company standards
Providing and developing daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
Lead and manage Civil and structural scope across construction projects
Supervise field engineering teams to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery
Coordinate with procurement, construction, and client representatives to meet project milestones
Maintain compliance with time, cost, quality, and contractual requirements
Oversee technical documentation, inspections, and deviation approvals
Uphold Quality Assurance standards and resolve non-conformances
Prepare reports, requisitions, Work Packs, and test packs with accuracy and timeliness
Support variation assessments and contract change management

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

Tertiary qualifications in Civil & Structural Engineering
Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, and cost control tools.
Preferably, at least 5 years of Site Construction experience in a Project Engineer role on major projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working on FMG, Rio Tinto, BHP and Roy Hill sites is highly regarded
