As Roads Drafter in our Transport team, you will support the delivery of major road, highway, and transport infrastructure projects, including MRWA works.
In this role, you will play a key part in producing high-quality design documentation and supporting engineers across all project phases—from concept through to detailed design and construction documentation.
You will be responsible for:
Preparing detailed road and highway design drawings including alignments, long sections, cross sections, drainage layouts, and pavement details in accordance with MRWA standards and Austroads guidelines
Producing and managing 2D and 3D models using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, and Civil 3D
Assisting in the development of design documentation packages for tender and construction, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements
Coordinating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams (drainage, structures, traffic, utilities) to integrate design elements across large infrastructure projects
Supporting design reviews, model audits, and drawing checks to maintain high-quality deliverables
Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project delivery timelines

Demonstrated experience as a Civil/Roads Drafter working on WA road or highway projects, ideally with exposure to MRWA standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D highly regarded
Strong understanding of road geometry, drainage, and earthworks modelling
Experience producing detailed design and construction drawings within infrastructure projects
A TAFE qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering Design or similar
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
