Roster: Casual 3-6 Month contract with potential to extend | Working Monday to Friday
Location: Laverton or Coolaroo Based
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of engineering solutions for waste processing systems, plant equipment, and facility layouts
- Translate project requirements into engineering scopes, technical documentation, and design deliverables
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs across civil, mechanical, electrical, process, automation, and chemical disciplines
- Support project delivery through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases
- Resolve technical queries, design changes, and site issues to ensure practical, fit-for-purpose outcomes
- Act as the key engineering interface between operations, projects, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and engineering standards, including participation in risk reviews and safe design activities
- Improve engineering governance by addressing documentation backlogs, standards, specifications, and consistency across the national function
Projects You’ll Tackle
- Waste processing and resource recovery infrastructure projects
- Plant upgrades, modifications, and optimisation
- Design, installation, and commissioning of waste treatment systems
- Engineering improvements across operational facilities
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, process, automation, chemical or similar)
- 10+ years’ experience in project engineering / project delivery
- Experience across design, construction, and commissioning of industrial or process plant
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, and operational teams
Highly Regarded:
- Experience in waste, resource recovery, or heavy industry
- Strong understanding of engineering governance and standards development
- CAD / design review capability and familiarity with project delivery tools
- Ability to work across multiple sites and priorities in a national function
