Redcat builds the technology that powers Australia's favourite hospitality brands, here and abroad. Our Hospitality IT Platform delivers integrated software and hardware solutions connecting POS systems, online ordering, loyalty programs and mobile apps into one seamless ecosystem.
We're a culture-first company driven by five core values: integrity, teamwork, innovation, customer focus, and accountability. If you care about work that directly shapes how millions of people experience their favourite hospitality brands, you'll feel at home here.
The Opportunity
Impacting more than 8 million consumers each month, we're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the consumer experience for Redcat's online ordering, loyalty, and mobile app products used by our globally recognised hospitality customers.
This is a collaborative leadership role with real influence on product strategy. Reporting to the CPO, you'll work closely with the CTO, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to translate real user and business needs into beautifully crafted, integrated experiences.
At Redcat we value deep understanding of our customers' needs and the problems they face. The product design role is central to how we approach product development — helping identify the most important problems to solve, prototyping and testing with customers, and bringing ideas to market with modern tooling.
What you'll be doing
-
Lead discovery, concept, interaction, visual design, and prototyping for features within your assigned product area
- Make considered design decisions that thoughtfully balance user needs, business outcomes, and technical constraints
- Plan and run evaluative research, including usability tests and user interviews
- Use analytics, customer feedback, and post-launch data to drive iteration and define success metrics
- Synthesise findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product and engineering partners
- Contribute to and evolve Redcat's design system; introduce new patterns and components with clear documentation
- Help shape design rituals, standards, and practices as a foundational member of our growing design function
- Partner with Product and Engineering across the full development cycle — from problem framing through to customer implementation
- Facilitate design reviews and present work to stakeholders, clearly articulating trade-offs
- Influence feature prioritisation through user-centred, evidence-based thinking
- Build strong working relationships across disciplines and champion design thinking across the organisation
What You'll Bring
Experience

5–7 years designing digital products, with a strong portfolio across responsive web and/or native mobile applications
- Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, clear process, and meaningful outcomes across complete features and user journeys
- Experience working embedded in cross-functional product teams
- A track record of end-to-end feature ownership, from problem framing to shipped product
- Experience contributing to or evolving design systems, including tokens, components, and governance
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting work and rationale to stakeholders, customers, and executives
- Experience in B2B SaaS, hospitality, POS, payments, or platform products (highly desirable)
- Exposure to AI/ML feature design and responsible AI considerations (desirable)
Tools & Craft
-
Deep proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping tools; produces high-fidelity, well-organised, well-documented files
- Strong understanding of responsive and adaptive design across web and native mobile
- Solid grasp of technical constraints and ability to collaborate substantively with engineers
Mindset
-
User-centred and evidence-driven; able to connect design decisions to business outcomes
- Commercially aware — understands Redcat's customers (hospitality and QSR operators) and the competitive landscape
- A natural collaborator who builds trust across disciplines and brings out the best in the people around them
- Comfortable with ambiguity and energised by shaping a growing design function
