About Your New Role
You will commence each shift with a morning or afternoon huddle, where the multidisciplinary team comes together to discuss operational priorities, workload allocation, and the shift ahead. Your daily schedule will typically include a combination of home visits, telehealth appointments, and/or clinic-based reviews, with consumers having been appropriately triaged and risk assessed prior to engagement. You will have dedicated time to review relevant clinical documentation and prepare for appointments. You will work collaboratively with consumers from diverse backgrounds who may be experiencing a range of acute mental health crises, psychosocial stressors, or periods of deterioration.
The team environment is highly supportive, with access to experienced senior clinicians acting as shift coordinators to provide guidance with complex presentations, risk management, and operational or scheduling matters. Team Leads are accessible across morning and late weekday shifts, and there are regular opportunities to participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service development, with protected time allocated to support ongoing learning and professional growth.
Your Key Responsibilities
Work within a motivated multidisciplinary team
Provide short term care for consumers experiencing acute mental health concerns in a community and clinic setting
Assess mental state and clinical risk and plan/provide associated clinical interventions
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent/A tertiary degree in, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
Current Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (Occupational Therapy, Psychologist only)
Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
Relevant Post Graduate Qualification for Nurse Applicants (unless UK trained) highly desirable
A minimum of 2-years of recent post-graduate clinical experience in public sector mental health care
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Driver's Licence
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Temporary full time and temporary part time (64 - 76 hrs p.f)
Base salary ranging from $4 368.80 - $4 678.10 per fortnight, $57.48 - $61.55 per hour
