Inventory Assistant (warehouse)

Location: Heidelberg West
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: $60,000 – $70,000

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Inventory Support person to join our Inventory team at our Heidelberg West location. This role is ideal for someone with strong warehouse and stock-control experience who is confident working with computer systems, processes, and documentation.

While we operate in the assistive technology space, this role is primarily about inventory accuracy, warehouse processes, and reliability. Product knowledge can be learned — solid warehouse fundamentals are key.

About the Role

In this role, you will support the Inventory team with day-to-day warehouse and stock-control activities, including:

Receiving, picking, and moving stock and deliveries within the warehouse
Working with picking slips, stock movements, and inventory documentation
Maintaining accurate inventory records and inventory mapping across internal systems
Using Excel and inventory systems to support stock control and reporting
Liaising with suppliers regarding stock, deliveries, discrepancies, and queries
Responding to inventory-related enquiries from suppliers and internal teams
Following established warehouse and inventory processes to ensure consistency and accuracy
Supporting the wider team to keep daily operations running smoothly

About You

You’re a reliable, hands-on team player who understands how a warehouse operates and takes pride in accuracy and consistency. You’re comfortable working within defined processes and are confident using computer systems to support inventory control.

You know the importance of asking questions when unsure and prefer to get things right rather than guess.

You will also have:

Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory role
Strong understanding of warehouse processes, picking slips, and stock movements
High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory mapping
Confidence using computer systems, including Excel and inventory software
The ability to follow direction while using initiative appropriately
Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
A positive, helpful attitude and willingness to support the team

Assistive technology product knowledge is not essential for this role — training will be provided. Strong warehouse and inventory process experience is the priority.

Prefers to work without structure, systems, or clear warehouse processes
Is uncomfortable following established procedures or doing things a specific way
Tends to guess rather than asking questions when unsure
Struggles with accuracy, attention to detail, or inventory record-keeping
Is not confident using computer systems, spreadsheets, or inventory software
Has difficulty with punctuality, reliability, or consistent attendance
Prefers to work independently without contributing to a team
Is unwilling to pitch in and help when priorities shift
