Full Job Description

Are you a student in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Education, Speech Pathology, or Health Science? Are you looking for invaluable practical experience while utilising your theoretical knowledge?

Extended Families are seeking passionate Inclusion Support Workers to join our LinC program; a transformative support program designed to empower people with disabilities by enhancing their skills, and participation in their community.

Prior work experience is not necessary – if your values align with ours, and you have the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and an ability to be reflective in your practice we encourage you to apply!

We are looking for people who are happy to work short shift (minimum 2 hours) and who can commit to participants for 12 months at a minimum. Ideally, you will have broad availability throughout the week.

The Role: As an Inclusion Support Worker, you will provide one-on-one support, focusing on skill development, motivational support, and positive behaviour support. Whether you’re building life skills or facilitating community engagement, your work will have a lasting impact.

Our Inclusion Support Workers work with our participants, their families and care teams to provide support in a number of areas. This may look like working toward identified capacity building goals both in the home and within the community, daily living support, attending allied heath appointments and family respite to name a few!

Hands on Industry Experience - Opportunities to work alongside industry professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech Therapists and Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide quality, informed support to people with a disability.
Supportive Environment – You will have access to knowledgeable and approachable Services Facilitators who provide coaching and mentoring to support you. Extended Families also provide all staff a comprehensive onboarding program.
Other – Benefit from our Employee Assistance Program for free well-being and counselling support and have access to a suite of professionally developed online learning courses.

Essential Requirements

To considered for this role you must have:

Current enrolment in a relevant field or possess relevant qualification and/or experience.
A commitment to personal growth, learning, and reflective practice.
A NDIS Worker Screening Check, a Working with Children’s Check, First Aid and CPR Certificates (or be willing to obtain them).
A current Australian Driver License.
Access to a safe and insured motor vehicle to use for work.

Location and Hours: We have positions available across greater and metropolitan Melbourne. Shifts may be weekly or fortnightly and typically range from 2-4 hours, including before and after school, weekends, and school holidays.
