ELMO Software Pty Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Team Lead to join our Engineering department at our Sydney Head Office. This is a permanent, full-time position for an individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. As the Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of skilled engineers to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement innovative software solutions.
- Contributing to the architectural design and development of high-quality, scalable software products.
- Participating in code reviews, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Overseeing the troubleshooting of complex technical issues and providing timely resolutions.
- Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement within the team.

Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams to deliver quality outcomes in complex and evolving environments.
Proven experience in technical planning, delivery oversight, risk management and stakeholder communication across cross-functional teams.
Strong experience in system and service design, including scalable architecture, design review and application of established engineering patterns.
Experience using delivery, performance and reliability data to inform decisions and improve team outcomes.
Demonstrated capability in reviewing both human-written and AI-generated code while maintaining high quality standards.
Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop engineers through regular feedback, performance reviews and growth conversations.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with product, technology, stakeholders and senior engineers.
Strong execution and planning skills, including prioritisation, work breakdown, accountability and delivery monitoring.
Ability to identify, communicate and mitigate technical, delivery and people risks, including key person dependencies and team bottlenecks.
Sound judgement in applying AI and modern technologies in a practical, sustainable and architecturally aligned way.
Effective incident and issue management skills, including escalation management, stakeholder communication and post-incident follow-up.
