## ICT Support and Test Engineers (nec)
## Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented ICT Support and Test Engineer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining the integrity, performance, and quality of our systems and infrastructure. This role combines technical support, quality assurance, and systems testing to ensure seamless operations and adherence to established standards. ## Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct quality audit inspections across systems, data, and documentation, identifying variations and potential high-risk areas to ensure continued adherence to established standards and procedures.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system problems and performance issues, providing hands-on troubleshooting support for desktops, hardware, software, printers, databases, operating systems, email platforms, and network connectivity.
- Test the functionality, behaviour, and integrity of systems and application code within defined testing protocols and quality frameworks, identifying and documenting errors, faults, and deviations from specification.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes, guidelines, and strategies to support system reliability, security, and performance across the organisation.
- Recommend and facilitate corrective action plans to address non-compliance issues identified through ongoing monitoring, auditing, and review of operational processes and procedures.
- Perform organisational systems architecture reviews and assessments, providing well-informed recommendations on current and future hardware and software strategies aligned with business needs.
- Develop and deliver technical guidance, training, and support to end users and stakeholders on application software, operational procedures, and best practice usage.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with users and management to promote awareness of quality control standards, data integrity requirements, and ICT compliance obligations.
- Create, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including procedural guides, operational manuals, technical specifications, testing reports, and maintenance inventory records.
- Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, installations, configurations, and patch management activities to minimise disruption and maintain system availability.
- Monitor and evaluate system infrastructure to proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvement, contributing to the ongoing optimisation of ICT environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders to support the delivery of ICT initiatives and ensure quality outcomes are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
## Required Qualifications & Skills
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar ICT role.
- Proven experience in ICT technical support, systems testing, or quality assurance within a professional environment.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance frameworks, and audit processes across systems and software.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across a broad range of ICT systems, including hardware, software, operating systems, and network components.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation such as test plans, procedural guides, specifications, and operational manuals.
- Solid knowledge of database management, system security, backup procedures, and infrastructure performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in diagnosing software and hardware faults and delivering appropriate solutions within agreed timeframes and service levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, methodical approach to quality assurance and issue resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing competing priorities and deadlines effectively.
## Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, ISTQB (Software Testing), or Microsoft Certified qualifications.
- Experience with enterprise-level systems, cloud platforms, or virtualisation technologies such as AWS, Azure, or VMware.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk.
- Exposure to Agile or DevOps delivery environments and associated testing practices such as continuous integration and automated testing.
- Previous experience conducting formal ICT audits, architecture reviews, or compliance assessments.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian and international ICT standards and frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001 or COBIT.
