About the Role
As Director of Sales at Rydges World Square, you’ll lead the hotel’s sales strategy to drive revenue, grow and maintain market share, and deliver strong commercial outcomes. You’ll coach and mentor your team, keep them informed on goals and results, and celebrate successes. This role requires managing tactical sales plans, anticipating business peaks and troughs, and collaborating with Marketing, Loyalty, and Digital teams to uncover new opportunities. With a client-focused approach and persuasive communication skills, you’ll influence stakeholders, resolve challenges, and champion innovation to stay ahead of the market.
Skills & Experience
- 3 – 5 years in a senior sales role within hotels and a strong understanding of the Sydney market.
- Proven ability to convert sales inquiries and a strong focus on driving C&E, while developing repeat business
- Proven leadership experience managing and motivating a sales team of at least 3 or more, with a focus on coaching and development.
- Strong track record in delivering results through strategic planning and achieving ambitious revenue goals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large client accounts, ensuring growth and retention.
- Expertise in planning and organising resources to meet deadlines and optimise performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to identify new business opportunities, manage risk, and maximise profitability.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills to engage stakeholders, negotiate outcomes, and gain buy-in.
- Solid experience driving rooms revenue and F&B sales for entertainment and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy that drives market share growth and commercial outcomes, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded in the CRM.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team, keeping them informed on goals, performance, and celebrating successes.

- Collaborate with Marketing, Loyalty, and Digital teams to identify new revenue opportunities and innovative packages.
