Full Job Description

Introduction:
ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland. Enjoy a short two-hour flight direct to our well-equipped camp and mining operation - only a five-minute drive from Woodie airport.

Description:
Reporting to the Principal – Environment & Sustainability, you would be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of rehabilitation activities across site. Your key responsibilities would be:

Provide technical environmental advice to internal stakeholders

Identify and manage environmental risks and improvement opportunities

Undertake environmental compliance, monitoring and ensure reporting obligations are met

Coordinate environmental projects, including progressive rehabilitation initiatives

Coordinate and implement the Life of Mine Rehabilitation Program ensuring alignment with closure plans and objectives

Oversee earthworks rehabilitation activities and manage earthmoving contractors

Design or modify Waste Rock Landform's as required to meet rehabilitation design requirements.

Ensure quality control and manage financial aspects of rehabilitation activities

Oversee seed collection, storage and application processes

Monitor bulk earthworks against approved Mine Closure Plans and environmental requirements

Review contractor safety systems and ensure compliance with site safety standards, including risk assessments and traffic management plans

Supervise daily rehabilitation activities to ensure alignment with plans, schedules and compliance requirements

Requirements to be successful in this role are:
Strong understanding of Mine Closure Plans and environmental compliance requirements

Proven ability to manage contractors and drive performance outcomes

Excellent planning, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills

C Class WA Drivers’ Licence

Bachelor of Science – Environment (or related discipline)

5+ years’ experience in a similar role

Environmental Rehabilitation/Closure Exposure

A thorough understanding of WA environmental and mining law and approvals pathways and the associated legislation

Deswik Experience

Applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical, provide a clean NPC (dated within the last 6 months (or able to obtain) and provide valid references.
