Full Job Description

First Light Care is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to support the organisation’s counselling, education, and training services to the community. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth financial and administrative operations of the organisation while upholding the values, vision, and mission of First Light Care.

This is a flexible permanent part-time position (10 hours per week) with the opportunity to work from home.

Key responsibilities include:

To assist in preparing annual donation statements and assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice follow-ups and expense payments
Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations using MYOB
Process payroll, superannuation, leave entitlements, Medicare claims, PAYG, BAS, and STP lodgements
Monitor Award updates and maintain compliance with financial and regulatory requirements
Review insurance policies and maintain internal policies and procedures
Support Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) compliance and liaise with external accountants for annual account reviews

Skills and Experience

Experience in accounts administration, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of payroll, BAS, PAYG, superannuation, and financial reporting requirements
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Alignment with First Light Care’s values and mission
Understanding of charity or not-for-profit compliance requirements is desirable
Proficiency in reading and speaking Chinese is highly preferred
