The Gladesville store operates within a high-volume hospitality environment where teamwork, operational excellence, food safety, and customer satisfaction are central to the business’s success.

Position Overview

The Retail Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Johnny Gio’s Pizza - Gladesville store, ensuring efficient daily operations, strong financial performance, exceptional customer experience, and a motivated team environment. The role requires hands-on leadership within a fast-paced hospitality setting and accountability for compliance, people management, stock control, and service delivery.

This is a senior operational role suited to an experienced retail or hospitality leader who thrives in a structured, performance-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Determining appropriate product offerings, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining high customer service standards
Developing and implementing purchasing, pricing, and marketing strategies to support business operations and profitability
Coordinating promotional and advertising activities to increase brand awareness and sales performance
Assisting customers with product and service enquiries while supporting sales and customer satisfaction outcomes
Maintaining accurate records relating to inventory, sales, and financial transactions
Preparing and monitoring budgets, operational costs, and financial performance indicators
Managing the recruitment, training, supervision, and performance of staff members
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety standards, and operational policies

Skills & Experience

· Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within a fast-paced environment

· Strong leadership capability with demonstrated experience managing teams and rosters

· Sound understanding of cost control, inventory management, and retail performance metrics

· High level of organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Preferred Qualifications

· AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)

· At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

· Current food safety certification or willingness to obtain

· Prior experience within pizza restaurant or hospitality operations

Work Environment

The Retail Manager role is hands-on and operational, requiring active involvement on the shop floor alongside the team. The position demands strong time management, resilience under pressure, and the ability to lead by example in a high-volume service environment.

Note - Preference will be given to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
