Details: Do you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to lead our Kinship Assessment and Support Team, driving high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally responsive services that support children in care and their carer's.

This is a leadership role focused on building and guiding a multidisciplinary team to deliver best-practice kinship assessments and strong, ongoing support for kinship carers.

As the Team Leader, you will provide strong, values-driven leadership to ensure effective service delivery across kinship assessment and support functions. You will play a key role in improving outcomes for children and young people by ensuring timely, high-quality assessments and accessible support for carers.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications, but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are eligible to apply.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Welfare, Social Science or related discipline.
CYPP 4 must have at least five (5) years of practical experience working with children, young people and/or their families in a social work/case management role.
Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
This role will work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, the capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is required.
Driver’s license (C class) is essential.

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months.
