About the role
MUFG Retirement Solutions (RS) business under the MUFG Pensions & Market Services group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality, client-specific projects for a key superannuation client. This role is critical to the ongoing partnership between MUFG RS business and the client and plays a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to agreed quality outcomes.
You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery across a portfolio of initiatives, including business improvement, system upgrades, legislative and IT projects. Many of these involve complex system integrations, APIs, and production deployments.
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager and working closely with internal stakeholders, the client and external vendors, you will act as the central conduit - translating business, technical and client requirements into well-planned, successfully delivered outcomes. This is an opportunity to operate in a complex, highly regulated financial services environment, where strong stakeholder management, delivery discipline and commercial acumen are essential.
This role is Perth-based and requires candidates to reside locally, with regular onsite attendance at our Perth CBD office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ensuring strong stakeholder alignment and clear outcomes, with a consistent focus on member experience
- Proactively manage risks, governance and reporting, maintaining high standards of compliance and delivery discipline
- Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager and working alongside the Senior Project Manager, coordinate and prioritise project-related work, ensuring effective allocation and alignment of Business Analyst resources while maintaining adherence to PMO reporting requirements
- Provide regular reporting and updates to the Portfolio Manager on project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery status, escalating any risks,issues, or roadblocks in a timely manner, and seeking approval for any changes to scope or key dates
- Drive continuous improvement, develop procedures and support the establishment of new ways of working and best practices
- Bring strong soft skills: a positive, “can-do” attitude, resilience, and the ability to influence and work effectively with multiple stakeholders

About you
You are a confident, positive, delivery-focused Project Manager with experience operating in complex IT and/or financial services environments. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and engaging with senior stakeholders.
Essential experience & capabilities
- Proven project management experience delivering business, regulatory and/or technology initiatives
- Strong planning, organisation and ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, including negotiation and the ability to navigate complex environments
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a calm, pragmatic and positive (“can-do”) attitude
- Ability to manage risk, resolve issues and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable taking on varied, hands-on responsibilities, including coordinating Business Analysts, contributing to business analysis activities (e.g. requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder workshops), and supporting delivery as needed
- Demonstrated ability to leverage prior experience to introduce, define and embed improved ways of working, including process documentation, tracking mechanisms and delivery practices
- Willingness to support project release activities outside of standard business hours, including weekend work where required
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies
