The IRRBB & Liquid Assets Analyst supports the Head of Balance Sheet & Capital in managing the Bank’s interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB), structural hedging activities and long‑term liquid asset portfolio. The role provides analysis, monitoring, recommendations and execution across IRRBB exposures, hedge performance, liquid asset investments and overall balance sheet positioning. It contributes to the development and maintenance of the Bank’s IRRBB framework and liquid asset strategy, including analysis of repricing, basis and yield curve risks, hedge effectiveness and investment performance to support informed risk management and decision‑making.

What you will be doing

Analyse and monitor IRRBB exposures (repricing, basis and yield curve risk), supporting framework maintenance, stress testing and risk reporting (e.g. NIIS, EVE).
Analyse the Bank’s IRRBB profile and prepare derivative hedging actions. Subject to individual dealing mandate negotiate and executed derivative hedging transactions with wholesale counterparties.
Support development and implementation of structural hedging strategies, including analysis of swaps, derivatives and hedge effectiveness.
Manage and provide insights on the long‑term liquid asset portfolio, assessing composition, duration, yield, liquidity and investment opportunities.
Monitor and manage counterparty credit risk exposures, including limits, utilisation, ratings and emerging risks.
Support balance sheet forecasting and scenario analysis, providing insights on pricing, funding, growth and market impacts on IRRBB and liquidity outcomes.
Prepare high‑quality reporting, analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders, including ALCO and the Group Treasurer.
Maintain governance frameworks, policies and limits relating to IRRBB, hedging and liquid assets, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
Collaborate across Treasury, Finance, Risk and external stakeholders to support effective risk management, decision‑making and regulatory engagement.

What you will bring

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex interest rate risk, liquid asset portfolios and market dynamics.
High attention to detail and ownership of outputs, with the ability to identify, assess and escalate emerging risks.
Ability to translate technical Treasury concepts into clear, practical recommendations for stakeholders.
Collaborative approach, working effectively across Treasury, Finance, Risk and Technology teams.
Solid understanding of IRRBB, structural hedging, and long‑term liquid asset portfolio management (e.g. bonds, FRNs, duration, yield curve risk).
Strong financial modelling capability, including advanced Excel and experience with Treasury/ALM systems (e.g. QRM or equivalent).
Knowledge of prudential standards (e.g. APS 117, APS 210) and experience operating within regulated ADI environments.
Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, commerce or related discipline, with experience in Treasury, financial markets or balance sheet management highly regarded.
