## Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality construction projects across residential and commercial sites. The successful candidate will bring hands-on expertise in bricklaying and masonry, with a strong eye for precision, alignment, and finish. This role suits a trade-qualified professional who takes pride in their craft, works effectively within a team, and upholds the highest standards of safety and workmanship on every project.

## Key Responsibilities

- Interpret architectural plans, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine the correct materials, quantities, dimensions, and installation methods required for each job
- Erect, maintain, and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures in accordance with site safety requirements and relevant Australian standards
- Prepare and seal foundations using damp-proof and waterproof materials, and apply even layers of mortar to serve as a base and binding medium for brickwork and blockwork
- Lay bricks, blocks, and pre-cut stone in correct sequence, pattern, and design, spreading mortar between joints to ensure structural integrity and a clean, consistent finish
- Embed building blocks securely in mortar, remove excess material promptly, and finish joints to the specified profile and standard
- Use levels, plumb lines, and measuring tools to continuously check and maintain accurate vertical and horizontal alignment throughout construction
- Cut, trim, shape, and dress bricks and stone using both hand tools and power machinery to achieve precise fits, particularly in corners, openings, and irregular spaces
- Repair and restore existing brickwork, cement block structures, retaining walls, arches, and related masonry features to maintain structural soundness and visual consistency
- Construct a variety of masonry structures including walls, partitions, fireplaces, pathways, and decorative features in accordance with design requirements
- Work collaboratively with other trades, site supervisors, and project managers to ensure construction timelines and quality benchmarks are met
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to all workplace health and safety (WHS) obligations and site-specific induction requirements
- Monitor and manage material usage on site, minimising waste and reporting stock requirements to the relevant site supervisor or project manager

## Required Qualifications & Skills

- Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying (CPC33020) or equivalent trade qualification recognised in Australia
- Valid and current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Proven hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial bricklaying across a range of project types and scales
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, site plans, and technical specifications
- Sound knowledge of mortar mixing ratios, material selection, and correct application techniques for varying conditions
- Demonstrated ability to use bricklaying hand tools, power cutting equipment, and measuring instruments accurately and safely
- Strong understanding of Australian building codes, standards, and WHS legislation as they relate to masonry and on-site construction
- Ability to erect and work safely from scaffolding, with relevant awareness of fall prevention and site hazard management
- High level of attention to detail with a commitment to producing structurally sound and aesthetically consistent brickwork
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a broader construction team
- Valid driver's licence (C Class or equivalent) and willingness to travel between sites as required

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in heritage restoration, decorative brickwork, or feature stonework is highly regarded
- Scaffolding licence or certification in accordance with state-based SafeWork or WorkSafe requirements
- First aid certificate (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
- Experience operating elevated work platforms (EWP) or holding a relevant high-risk work licence
- Demonstrated experience in a leading hand or supervisory capacity overseeing junior tradespeople or apprentices
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and familiarity with environmentally conscious construction materials
