As a Pastry Team Leader, you will work closely with the production manager to ensure the day-to-day operations of the pastry team run smoothly while motivating and guiding your team to deliver exceptional products, service, and consistency. You will play an important role in maintaining standards, improving team performance, and helping create a positive and professional workplace.

Direct reports: Pastry Team, Bread Team Leader
Coordinates with: Operations /Retail Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead (inspire and manage) the pastry production team of 4-5 people
- Lead by example by modelling our values
- Assist in planning and managing daily pastry production schedules to meet demand
- Oversee daily production to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
- Assist in stock management and ordering
- Assist in maintaining and improving systems, processes, and workflows
- Train and support team members
- Work closely with the production manager to ensure daily goals are met
About You
You need to be able to convince us that you ….
- Have a passion for things food and bakery
- Hold a certificate 3 or above in Patisserie, bakery or cookery, or equivalent
- Have relevant experience in a senior production or kitchen leadership role managing a team greater than 4
- Experience in large-scale or high-volume production bakery or patisserie with both wholesale and retail
- Skills and knowledge on viennoiserie and patisserie
- Must have appropriate citizenship, residency or visa (Unrestricted working hours)
- Are a natural leader, with good emotional intelligence (self-awareness and empathy), respect for team members and capable of adapting how you lead dependant on who you are leading
- Have the ability to hold oneself and others accountable
- Have production planning, organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, recognising that no task is too small or unimportant for any team member.
- Have situational awareness: an ability to monitor the food production environment, recognise problems and proactively develop solutions
- Will derive satisfaction through your team members’ success
