About the role:

In this role, you will work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team of senior critical care staff, playing a key role in the treatment and rehabilitation of ventilated patients. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing early mobility programs to facilitate recovery, as well as preparing and managing tracheostomy care when required. This position involves a 4-hour weekend shift, with specific hours negotiable.

Maitland Hospital is a modern healthcare facility providing a wide range of medical services to the Hunter Valley region. The new Maitland Hospital, which opened in 2022, features state-of-the-art equipment, expanded emergency and maternity services, and improved inpatient care.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will be proactive and resourceful, with a strong ability to identify issues and act swiftly to address them. You should possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and act as a representative, sharing key information from meetings to ensure everyone is aligned. In addition, you will be expected to provide effective clinical supervision and support to junior therapists, helping them navigate the complexities of the ICU environment. Your leadership and guidance will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the team.

Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
