ROLE PURPOSE
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our semi-automated distribution facility in Erskine Park. Reporting to the site Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a range of machinery and equipment including packaging machinery, MHE, conveyor systems, and AMR pod systems in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be part of our PM shift with hours from 2 pm to 10 pm.
You’ll be a self-motivated problem solver who thrives working both independently and as part of a team. This role also supports plant improvement projects, operation of HMI-controlled machinery, and at times stepping up to lead the maintenance team. Your ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and keep operations running smoothly is important.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of machinery and equipment
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to minimise downtime
Fabricate and modify parts as needed to keep machinery running efficiently
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities
Apply strong problem-solving and lateral-thinking skills to resolve issues and manage breakdowns calmly.
Operate and maintain HMI-controlled machinery.
Contribute to site improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Step up to lead the maintenance team when required and prioritise competing maintenance tasks effectively and safely.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Essential
Mechanical trade qualifications
Strong pneumatic knowledge
Experience with PLC and HMI operation
Fabrication skills (MIG and Stick welding)
Current forklift high-risk work licence
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
Working at Heights training
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple breakdowns simultaneously
Desirable
Current Australian First Aid certificate (including CPR)
Fire Warden training
Basic electrical knowledge of automated machinery
Project management skills
Ability to operate various material handling equipment as required
Knowledge of dangerous goods and flammable liquids
