We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Sydney team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality building services projects. In this role, you will support the design and coordination of mechanical systems, including HVAC layouts, load calculations, equipment selections and multidisciplinary documentation. Working alongside experienced engineers and project leaders, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical capability, contribute to sustainable design outcomes and grow your career within a collaborative and purpose-led environment.
What You’ll Do
Set up heating and cooling load calculation files
Prepare HVAC layout and drafting
Maintain AutoCAD and Revit files and ensure established standards are followed
Prepare preliminary equipment selections using firm selection procedures
Adapt to handle changing priorities and respond systematically to critical situations
Co-ordinate mechanical requirements with other disciplines involved in the project design team
Co-ordinate service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies
Assist in training junior staff and reviewing their work
Provide construction administration services as directed and supervised by senior staff
Lead the technical delivery for projects from concept to implementation for all renewable energy initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
Approximately 3–4 years’ experience designing mechanical systems within the building services industry.
Relevant design experience in HVAC systems
Australian Qualifications Framework - Bachelor Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma associated with Mechanical Engineering specialisation
Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Electrical drawings with minimal supervision provided by senior staff
Knowledge of thermal / heat load modelling and calculations
Strong engineering fundamentals, with the ability to work independently and take accountability for quality technical outcomes.
Demonstrated capability in multidisciplinary collaboration and coordination.
Organised and effective team member, able to work easily with others, and effectively delegate.
Experience working directly in Revit and producing coordinated, high‑quality design documentation is considered favourable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a mentoring mindset and the ability to support the development of junior team members.
A proactive, commercially aware approach with an interest in contributing to business growth and long‑term team success.
