About the Role

ACESGroup is seeking an experienced RTO Manager to lead the day-to-day management and continued growth of our Registered Training Organisation. This role requires a confident, hands-on leader who can balance strategic direction with active operational oversight, supporting trainers, administration teams, students, clients, and regulatory requirements.
As a leading provider of nationally recognised qualifications and workforce development programs in the security and safety industry, ACESGroup plays a vital role in upskilling professionals who safeguard people, property, venues, events, and critical infrastructure.
This is a senior management role with direct responsibility for RTO operations, compliance, team performance, service delivery, and business growth. You will take an active leadership role across the organisation, ensuring the RTO runs efficiently, remains compliant with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025, and delivers industry-relevant training programs that meet the needs of students, the security sector, and clients across Australia.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead from the front, provide clear direction to trainers and administrative staff, make sound operational decisions, and maintain a strong focus on quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on Management & Operational Leadership
- Lead the daily operations of the RTO, ensuring training delivery, administration, compliance, reporting, and student services are managed effectively
- Provide visible, practical leadership to trainers, assessors, and administrative staff
- Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and ensure team members are accountable for quality outcomes
- Oversee scheduling, resource planning, trainer allocation, student progression, and operational workflows
- Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, professionally, and in line with business priorities
- Drive a culture of ownership, service excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Support staff with coaching, guidance, problem-solving, and performance development
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies aligned with ACESGroup’s broader business goals
- Lead the commercial growth of the RTO by identifying new opportunities for expansion
- Translate strategic objectives into practical operational plans and measurable outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments, regulators, clients, and industry partners
- Contribute to the development of innovative, industry-relevant training programs that support workforce capability
Compliance & Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with ASQA Standards for RTOs 2025 and relevant government regulators, including SafeWork NSW, Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED), NSW Food Authority, aviation regulators, Department of Home Affairs – Critical Infrastructure Security Centre (CISC), and Liquor & Gaming NSW
- Develop, review, and improve RTO policies, procedures, systems, and quality frameworks
- Conduct internal audits and manage external audits with regulatory bodies
- Maintain strong oversight of training and assessment practices, student records, reporting obligations, and evidence requirements
- Administer and manage government-funded programs, including Smart and Skilled, TNI creation, PAS monitoring, and financial cap management
- Lead corrective actions, continuous improvement activities, and compliance rectification processes where required
Marketing & Business Development
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote ACESGroup training programs
- Build partnerships with Job Service Agencies, employment networks, corporate clients, and industry stakeholders
- Prepare client quotations for onsite training and identify opportunities to increase student enrolments
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure training solutions meet client, workforce, and industry needs
- Support commercial growth while maintaining quality, compliance, and student outcomes
Team Leadership
- Lead, manage, and support a team of trainers, assessors, and administrative staff
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and promote professional development
- Build a positive, inclusive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Ensure staff understand their responsibilities and are supported to meet operational, compliance, and service standards
- Lead by example through professionalism, sound judgement, responsiveness, and strong communication
What You’ll Bring
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE40116 or equivalent
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Education, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in RTO management or senior RTO operations
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in a hands-on management capacity
- Strong understanding of ASQA Standards for RTOs 2025
- Working knowledge of Smart and Skilled operational guidelines
- Ability to meet suitability requirements to work in the security industry, including relevant background checks
