About the Role

We are seeking a full-time, highly capable Business Analyst to join our Melbourne team and play a key role in driving process improvement, system optimisation, and data-driven decision making across the organisation. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with operations, compliance, finance, and leadership teams to streamline our workflows and implement intelligent solutions.

You will be the bridge between business needs and technology outcomes translating complex operational requirements into clear system specifications, actionable insights, and practical improvements that keep GMQ Global running at its best.

Position: Business Analyst

Location of work: 492 St Kilda Road, MELBOURNE VIC 3004

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus Superannuation

Key responsibilities include:

Working with users to formulate and document business requirements across global education counselling, enrolment, and licensing functions.
Identifying and evaluating inefficiencies in existing systems and workflows and recommending optimal business practices and system functionality improvements.
Using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of software, including CRM platform enhancements.
Acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and support in system project decision-making processes across business units.
Developing functional specifications for use by system developers, particularly for CRM system features and integrated dashboards.
Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, including system implementation, testing, and adoption activities.
Developing visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI Desktop to support data-driven decision making.
Applying analytical thinking to transform data into informative visual reports that communicate key business insights to leadership and stakeholders.
Developing, publishing, and scheduling Power BI reports as per business requirements, including weekly reports to all appropriate parties.
Profiling and analysing data on Power BI Desktop, importing data, and transforming data for business intelligence purposes.
Preparing final analysis reports for stakeholders to understand data analysis steps and enable informed business decisions based on trends and performance metrics.

Qualification, Skills and Experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a Business Analyst or similar experience
Demonstrated experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based business platforms
Experience with CRM systems, including configuration, workflow automation, and user management
Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX queries, data modelling, and report publishing
