Join us as a Lead Support Worker, StandBy, and be part of something bigger.

What you’ll do

Join a passionate and purpose driven team supporting individuals, families and communities impacted by suicide bereavement across the Adelaide PHN region. In this role, you'll help deliver the StandBy Support After Suicide program through compassionate outreach, community engagement, education and coordinated support services.

Working closely with the StandBy Coordinator, you'll play an important role in ensuring people receive timely, sensitive and trauma informed support following a suicide. You'll also build strong relationships with community organisations and service providers, helping strengthen local postvention responses and increase awareness of available supports.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract until 30th June 2027 based in Hindmarsh.

You’ll be trusted to make a valuable impact by:

Providing compassionate support to individuals and families bereaved by suicide through face to face, telephone and online engagement.
Delivering community education, training and engagement activities that strengthen awareness and postvention capability across the sector.
Building and maintaining effective partnerships with community agencies, referral pathways and key stakeholders across the region.
Contributing to a collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement, learning and high quality service delivery.

What you’ll bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related Allied Health discipline, or significant relevant sector experience.
Experience working within suicide postvention, grief and loss, trauma-informed practice, mental health and/or community services.
The ability to respond calmly and sensitively in complex or emotionally challenging situations, with sound judgement and risk management skills.
