Full Job Description

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer , which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence . Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for an SOE Integration Engineer in Canberra to work on Domains projects .

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

Design, develop, build, and maintain LNIC ICT capabilities , including configuration control, capability development, and software integration.

Develop Standard Operating Environments (SOEs) using MDT, MECM, Intune, and support both deployable and static networks across Windows Server/Client, AD, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP/NPS, certificates, and endpoint security.

Automate builds and deployments using DevOps tooling such as PowerShell/ PowerCLI , Ansible, and GitLab, and package/administer software across Windows and Linux environments.

Produce system design documentation and support integration decisions , maintaining configuration control and contributing to LCS integration across tactical, operational, joint, and coalition environments.

Provide technical support to Army exercises and stakeholder activities , while contributing innovation ideas and assessing emerging technologies.

What You’ll Bring

Advanced Practitioner Systems Engineer with deep technical capability and experience.

Hands‑on experience with Defence deployable networks and integration across Land Combat System (LCS) interfaces.

Strong understanding of ISM‑aligned security practices , ensuring secure system design and operation.

Able to work autonomously within a high‑functioning technical team , demonstrating initiative and technical leadership.

Highly desirable experience with Government LAN environments and deployable Defence systems , supporting interoperability and Defence readiness.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
