Full Job Description

Business Support Officer – Municipal Laws & Public Assets

Are you an organised and customer-focused administrator who enjoys variety in your day and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely support? We’re looking for a Business Support Officer to join our Municipal Laws & Public Assets team and help deliver responsive, reliable services to the community.

In this role, you’ll provide efficient administrative and operational support across a busy service unit, helping to maintain high standards of customer service, records management, permit processing and business support. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, while contributing to compliance, continuous improvement and positive community outcomes.

About the role/what you’ll do

Deliver responsive, accurate and reliable customer service across a busy administrative environment.
Support day-to-day administration for the Municipal Laws Business Support Unit.
Process a range of permits and online payments, and assist with invoicing and purchasing administration.
Maintain records and support systems including CRM and other Council business systems.
Help maintain data accuracy and support animal management administration, including animal registration renewals.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, residents, contractors and other external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to a positive, solutions-focused team culture.

About you/what we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone who brings strong administration skills, a commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to stay composed and organised in a fast-paced environment. You’ll ideally have:

Experience in a fast-paced administrative or business support role.
Strong customer service skills and confidence dealing with enquiries in writing, over the phone and in person.
Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to work across different systems.
Good time management, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A collaborative approach and the ability to remain calm and professional when handling challenging situations.
Relevant administration qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Business Administration, or similar experience

What we offer:

A temporary leave backfill position to 27 July 2027

Part time, working 24 hours per week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays 8.30am to 5.00pm

Flexible work and leave arrangements

Salary from $48,470.65 - $51,147.61 per annum plus super (dependent on experience). For comparison at full time this would be $76,745.19 to $80,983.71.
