Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an intensive, family- and community-based program supporting young people aged 10–17 with serious behavioural challenges, including offending.

The program focuses on strengthening caregiver capacity and addressing the key drivers of behaviour to help young people remain safely at home and connected to their communities.

The Opportunity

Noble Park Office, Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Country
Full-time, Permanent role
$116K base salary plus super and salary packaging.

As an MST Practitioner, you’ll deliver intensive, evidence-based Multisystemic Therapy to a small caseload of young people and their families, working directly in the homes and communities of young people and their families.

You’ll support young people at risk of entering, or transitioning from, Out of Home Care by partnering with caregivers to drive behaviour change and improve family functioning.

Using a systemic, strengths-based approach, you’ll work across family, peer, school and community systems to address the drivers of behaviour—building caregiver capability, reducing risk factors and achieving measurable, sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver intensive in-home and community-based MST interventions to a small caseload
Develop and implement targeted, outcomes-focused treatment plans
Engage caregivers as the primary agents of change
Collaborate with key stakeholders including schools, Child Protection and community services
Monitor progress and adapt interventions to achieve measurable outcomes
Maintain accurate documentation in line with MST fidelity requirements
Participate in regular clinical supervision and MST training
Contribute to a 24/7 on-call roster

About You

You’re a values-driven practitioner who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by creating real impact for young people and families.

You bring:

Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions with young people, families or complex systems
Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) family systems theory, CBT and behavioural interventions
Strong engagement skills with vulnerable or hard-to-reach families
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple service systems
Strong problem-solving, communication and case planning capabilities
Commitment to culturally safe practice, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Resilience, adaptability and strong self-management skills
Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline
