The opportunity
CMC is experiencing a strong period of sustained growth, driven by the continued success of our precontracts team and a healthy pipeline of secured work. As a result of recently awarded projects across the region, we are seeking experienced HSE Advisors who’ll play a key role in the safe delivery of our Projects.
Primary Responsibilities

Act as the main site contact for all HSE matters across the project.

Work independently to identify, assess and manage site HSE risks.

Ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders to facilitate effective HSE outcomes.

Coordinate HSE activities between the construction team, consultants, client, subcontractors and other 3rd party stakeholders (e.g. WorkSafe Qld).

Provide practical HSE advice and support to project teams.

Implement and maintain company, project and legislative HSE requirements.

Possess strong skills and hands-on exposure to HSE electronic management systems, including system use, process management, reporting and compliance obligations.

Support the development and improvement of project HSE management plans, procedures and registers.

Coordinate HSE inductions, training, awareness and compliance programs.

Assist project teams to identify and deliver required HSE training.

Conduct site inspections, audits, observations and field monitoring.

Identify hazards and support corrective and preventative actions.
-
Lead or support incident, near miss and hazard reporting and investigations.

Provide specialist HSE advice on legal, contractual and project risks.

Maintain accurate HSE records, registers and reports.

Prepare HSE performance reports and compliance updates.

Support environmental management and site environmental compliance.

Participate in planning, coordination meetings and risk workshops.

Support emergency preparedness, response planning and drills.

Undertake return-to-work coordination activities where required.

Manage HSE administration and maintain controlled project documentation.

Promote a positive safety culture and continuous HSE improvement.
About you
-
Diploma or Cet IV (minimum) in Workplace Health and Safety
-
Construction HSE management (3+ years)
-
Implementation and monitoring permit to work system experience
-
Experience in WH&S/HSE management techniques and tools
-
Advanced skills in relevant computer software packages; use of basic functions of word processing, spread sheet and email software

Ability to conduct and interpret audits and reviews
-
TMR and/or TfNSW experience will be highly regarded.

Must be willing to work on a FI/FO or DI/DO roster. Project uplifts and Allowances are paid when working on roster.
