We are seeking anexperienced Database Specialist to join a Managed Services team supporting telecommunications platforms and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, performance optimization, security, and availability of enterprise database environments while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
This role is part of a long-term Managed Services engagement and will play a key role in maintaining high availability, performance, and reliability across telecom business support systems (BSS), operational support systems (OSS), customer management platforms, billing systems, and network applications.
- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise database environments across production, development, test, staging, and disaster recovery environments.
- Ensure database availability, integrity, security, and optimal performance for mission-critical telecommunications applications.
- Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, health checks, and optimization activities.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and maintain database platforms in accordance with operational standards.
- Support Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management processes in accordance with ITIL best practices.
- Investigate and resolve database-related incidents within agreed SLA and KPI targets.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve service stability.
- Manage database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support high-availability architectures and business continuity requirements for telecom services.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, network, storage, backup, and security teams to ensure end-to-end service performance.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical knowledge repositories.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities, upgrades, migrations, and release deployments.
- Provide on-call and shift-based support as required within a 24×7 Managed Services environment.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, audit requirements, operational procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration, Database Support, or Database Operations roles.
- Experience working within Managed Services, IT Operations, Enterprise Support, or Service Delivery environments.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale, high-availability database platforms in production environments.
- Experience operating within SLA-driven support environments with strict availability and performance requirements.
- Experience supporting telecommunications, service provider, or other mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization experience across complex database infrastructures.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft SQL Server Certification, PostgreSQL Certification, or equivalent database certifications.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Experience supporting Telecom OSS/BSS platforms.
- Experience supporting Billing Systems, CRM Platforms, Subscriber Management Systems, Network Management Systems, or Telecom Applications.
- Experience working within large-scale telecommunications Managed Services engagements.
