We also provide customised cakes tailored to customers’ preferences and special occasions. The Opportunity

MC Factory Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Chef to join our growing team in Adelaide. In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and production of a wide range of premium Japanese-inspired desserts, including cheesecakes, pastries, and cakes, while supporting daily kitchen operations and ensuring product quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.You will coordinate pastry production activities, guide kitchen staff in preparation techniques, and help ensure smooth kitchen workflow. You will also contribute to flavour development, product improvement, and production planning, while monitoring quality at all stages. This position is ideal for a skilled pastry professional with strong pastry knowledge, leadership ability, and a commitment to high-quality dessert production.

Key Responsibilities

● Provide management, training, and guidance to kitchen staff in pastry preparation techniques and daily production operations

● Lead to flavour development and product improvement to enhance overall dessert quality and consistency

● Oversee kitchen staff and coordinate pastry production operations to ensure smooth workflow

● Responsible for menu development, including the creation and refinement of new dessert items and seasonal offerings.

● Supervise kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards

● Oversee ordering and maintenance of pastry ingredient and supply inventory

● Prepare fillings and components for different pastry products

● Prepare, mix, knead, shape, and mould dough for a variety of pastries and desserts

● Bake cakes, pastries, and desserts while monitoring baking conditions and product quality

● Decorate and finish pastries, cakes, and desserts with icing, glaze, and other decorative elements

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

● At least 3 years of relevant experience in pastry production, dessert preparation, or a similar role, with demonstrated experience in kitchen supervision or team coordination

● Experience in supervising or managing kitchen operations and supporting team workflow

● Strong pastry-making skills with hands-on experience in preparing a wide range of desserts, cakes, and pastries

● Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple production tasks and priorities effectively

● Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to product quality and consistency

● Ability to follow production requirements and maintain high standards in a kitchen environment

● Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a kitchen production setting

● Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to supporting daily kitchen operations
