About the role

The Human Resources Officer role supports the Mount Isa Mines by providing high-quality administrative and operational HR support within a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, this role plays a key part in supporting HR Advisors across core activities including onboarding, reporting, payroll administration, and employee lifecycle processes.

Key responsibilities:

Provide HR administrative support across a range of functions

Complete data entry across payroll, performance reviews, and HR systems

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including travel arrangements

Maintain accurate document control and HR records

Assist with end-of-month reporting and processing

Audit HR systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance

Support HR Advisors with general administration tasks

Manage internal and external stakeholder enquiries via phone and email

About you – skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced HR or administrative environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident supporting HR processes across the employee lifecycle. Experience in mining or a similar operational environment is beneficial, along with a willingness to take ownership, learn quickly, and contribute to a collaborative team

You will bring:

Strong administrative and organisational skills

Ability to multitask and work effectively in high-volume environments

Experience using HR systems such as SAP or Ellipse (desirable)

Strong computer literacy across Microsoft Office applications

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting

Ability to manage confidential information appropriately

Proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting team outcomes

Current driver’s licence
