The Role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to a range of evaluations across the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. You will provide advice, undertake project planning and deliver capacity building activities to support evaluation practice across the department. You will work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team who are passionate about delivering quality work and driving positive change.
Main accountabilities:

Provide technical leadership and work in specialist project teams to undertake research and evaluate key initiatives across the department's portfolio areas and provide authoritative advice regarding evaluation as required.

Analyse data, collate evidence, and conduct stakeholder interviews to formulate findings and make recommendations on a diverse range of initiatives.

Lead the production of concise, high quality and compelling reports, briefs and submissions to facilitate effective decision-making.

Initiate, manage and maintain close and effective stakeholder relationships to ensure the effective delivery of projects.
The Team
The position of Senior Project Officer, Review and Evaluation forms a part of the Design and Evaluation branch within the Economic Policy, Programs & Services group.
Economic Policy, Programs and Services Group (EPPS) supports delivery of sustainable economic development and employment growth for Victoria. The Group supports DJSIR's delivery of strategic priorities through the entirety of the policy and project lifecycle, by providing leadership and expertise in policy design, research, analysis and advice, project management, delivery and evaluation. The priorities of the Small and Family Business and Employment portfolios – to enable Victorian small businesses to thrive, to enable Victorians to achieve sustainable employment and economic inclusion, and to increase employment and prosperity opportunities for Aboriginal Victorians in a self-determined way – are delivered by the Group.
About You

Evaluation Expertise: Experience undertaking significant reviews and/or evaluation projects with the ability to deliver high quality products on time when managing multiple competing priorities.

Problem solving: Advanced analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and capacity to make decisions and recommendations where diverse interests need to be considered.

Written and verbal communication skills: Strong critical analysis and excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills including the development of reports, PowerPoint presentations and diagrams, submissions and briefings that are concise and engaging.

Stakeholder management: Demonstrated stakeholder and relationship management skills to build trust, collaboration and consensus including proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds and organisations.
