Prince of Wales Hospital - Executive Assistant to the Director of Nursing
We are seeking a motivated and organised Administrative Officer Level 6 to join the team at Prince of Wales Hospital.
The Executive Assistant to the Director of Nursing provides high-level administrative and executive support to the Director of Nursing and Nursing Executive team. The role is responsible for managing enquiries, preparing reports and correspondence, coordinating administrative functions, and supporting effective decision-making in line with SESLHD policies and procedures.
The position also involves liaising with staff across all levels, maintaining effective working relationships, and overseeing corporate records management to ensure the secure and accurate handling of information.

The Role

The Executive Assistant to the Director of Nursing, Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH), is responsible for the provision of senior level administrative support to the Director of Nursing. The Executive Assistant provides a range of high-level administrative and clerical support services to enable the Director of Nursing Executive team portfolio to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks at a senior administrative support level while managing competing work priorities and work flow within allocated resources
- Proven ability to work independently and with demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to bring a creative approach to problem solving
- Demonstrated experience in responding to a range of customer enquiries and determining the appropriate response in a complex work environment
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability in preparing and drafting accurate and concise correspondence/reports to support decision making at a senior level within agreed timeframes
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures
- Demonstrated experience and proven ability in the use of computer applications to support business needs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications; corporate record systems; and payroll and recruitment systems.
