About the role
Ventia’s Engineering Services team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Asset Engineer to lead the implementation of our Asset Management System. In this role, you’ll drive asset strategies, oversee data gathering and verification, manage maintenance and inspection programs, monitor asset condition and performance, and ensure the integrity of our asset information. You’ll also support the rollout of our Asset Information Management System (AIMS) and help optimise maintenance resources across the contract.
This role is a Permanent Full-Time position offering hybrid working based from our offices in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
Other responsibilities include:
- Support development and continuous improvement of Asset Management strategies to optimise reliability, safety, integrity, and lifecycle cost.

Develop, review, and implement Asset Management processes and documentation.

Update Technical Maintenance Plans to meet legislative, standards, policy, and contractual changes.

Analyse data to identify recurring failures and develop engineering solutions.

Prepare O&M reports, KPI dashboards, and asset condition/performance summaries.

Extract and analyse asset data to inform renewal, refurbishment, disposal, and maintenance planning.

Use AIMS to plan, schedule, and issue work orders to internal and external teams.

Assist work parties with timely work order close‑out and follow‑up actions.

Monitor and report asset condition and performance, recommending and supporting rectification plans.

Provide AIMS training, support, and troubleshooting.

Conduct asset data collection, validation, and integrity checks.
About you
To be successful in your application, you will tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction and a good working knowledge of asset management principles (ISO 55000) accompanied with:

Proven experience in Asset Engineering

Proven ability to extract, refine, analyse, interpret and use Engineering data

Understanding of Asset Management and O&M principles and standards, in particular AIMS

Stakeholder relationship management skills

Experience of reporting to internal management and external clients

Advanced IT and computer skills
