This diverse and challenging role touches on all the Woolworths Channels, Brands and Platforms for Supermarkets, General Merchandise, Small Format Stores, & B2B.
The Solution Architecture role is pivotal within the Product & Supply Chain (PSC) Domain, and is a critical part of Woolworths Group Technology.
PSC is seeking a Solution Architect to join the PSC Architecture Capability Practice in an exciting and challenging role which provides opportunities for growth, and exposure to a diverse and complex portfolio. The successful candidate will influence and shape the technology landscape of Woolworths of the supported business areas by developing and maintaining technology and architecture solutions, capability models, and working with key stakeholders on the architecture vision and roadmaps.
Reporting to Head Of Technology - PSC Architecture, the successful candidate will have experience in business areas aligned to Supply Chain. Highly regarded will be experience in process areas related to Warehouse and Distribution Centre Management, Transport Management, International Logistics; and commercialized supply chains.
Responsibilities include:
Domain & Solution architecture delivery:
Develop, maintain and communicate architecture assessments and roadmaps for investing in the IT environment, to ensure effective architecture strategy and solutions are developed and maintained within the PSC Domain
Responsible for the establishment, maintenance and execution of best practice architecture development and governance for the supported business units, and to promote effective governance and solution quality within Architecture
Contribute to the development, maintenance and application of architecture policies, standards and guidelines to ensure effective Architecture and Design policies, standards and guidelines are developed and adhered to
Communication of architectural solutions, decisions and principles to teams contributing to the development of complex solutions, and to ensure effective solutions are designed in accordance with business requirements, Woolworths standards and Technology Strategy
Facilitating high quality, timely technology estimates for solutions and roadmaps to ensure effective estimation of technology solutions
Continuous improvement and Innovation:
Stakeholder engagement and partner management:
Develop and grow relationships with key partners including Heads of Business Unit, and Technology Heads, General Managers and Directors to ensure appropriate stakeholders are effectively engaged in the formulation of Architecture direction
Provide technology advice and guidance to Heads of Business Unit, and Technology Heads, General Managers and Directors within the Replenishment Domain to assist the business in the formulation of business strategy and technology investment decisions
Teamwork and self development
Participate in team meetings and training to maintain, refresh and establish new skills
Coach, develop and grow solution architects, including providing mentoring and coaching, etc. to support the architecture people development
What you'll bring
The Solution Architect will need to be a technologist who is a hands-on, responsive problem solver. You will require the following experience & qualifications:
5-10 years experience within the Technology Industry/retail services or in technology consulting
5+ years experience in delivering major business solutions within a project team
2+ years experience in developing and delivering technology roadmaps
Candidates with both strong architecture and experience in Forecasting and Fulfillment highly desirable
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline
