Bupa has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Application Architect to join our Domestic Retail and Digital domain. Our application architecture is evolving, and we are looking for fresh perspectives to usher in a modern design to enable our rapid growth and focus on our digital platforms.
As an Application Architect, you will join our architecture team and be responsibility for the end-to-end architecture and design of the application stack and services. The role will play a key role on transforming the monolithic solution in to composable & loosely coupled architecture such as JAMstack or MACH with NextJS & Node.JS hosted on docker and Kubernetes Services which provides great performance and rapid speed to market.
This role will lead the definition, oversight, and governance of architectural patterns for our Sitecore platform and services in the Health Insurance Digital estate, and will work collaboratively with the engineering, feature teams, solution architect, security architects and analysts.
You will also play a lead role in the wider architecture community at Bupa, exchanging information with the community and showcasing the Digital architecture.
You will be an engaging technical leader with exceptional communication skills and a clear passion for empowering data-driven decision making across government
What you’ll need to make it possible
- Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field
- Extensive [ 10+ years’] experience in application architecture and design with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a BE & Front-End development role, in particular, React JS, NextJS, Micro Services and event driven architecture.
- Excellent React, Typescript, Sitecore, .NET and C# experience including Web Services development and deployment. Microsoft certification advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience in Automation Testing using Playwright desirable.
- Certification and extensive experience working with architecture frameworks / methods
- Proven ability to leverage technical expertise to guide teams and influence decision makers
- Extensive Experience with Azure Cloud services and DevOps.
- SQL Server, Oracle or other SQL experience mandatory, experience with NoSQL databases advantageous
- Experience with Agile, Lean and Human Centred Design methodologies advantageous
- You are an advanced strategic thinker, effective at managing change and multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, with the ability to see the bigger picture
- Knowledge of the health insurance business (desirable)
