As a Pan Boiler at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will be responsible for the production of sugar. This includes monitoring and controlling batch pans, assessing crystal size and massecuite quality and making required changes to ensure sugar quality is met.

This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season (June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (Jan - May).
Your Role in Action
- Crystal Perfection: Produce high and low grade sugar to the required quality standards by managing syrup, magma and massecuite stocks in a way that maximises factory throughput and produces quality material capable of achieving sugar quality standards while maximising sucrose exhaustion.
- Housekeeping Hero: Maintain excellent housekeeping of the pan stage area and your control room.
- Turn Up the Heat: Boil according to schedule
- Champion Workplace and Environmental Safety: Ensure all safety requirements are completed and that no waste products or process materials enter storm water drains or otherwise cause environmental damage.
Your Winning Combination
The successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal (including familiarity communicating via UHF), and the ability to work effectively alongside a diverse range of people. A practical, hands-on approach and sound mechanical aptitude will be highly regarded.
While the following qualifications and experience are desirable, training will be considered for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude, and team fit:
- Sugar processing experience
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- Mechanical or maintenance experience
- High Risk Work Licences such as Rigger, Dogger and Scaffolder
Trade qualifications are not essential; however, candidates with a trade background or those who have recently completed an apprenticeship are encouraged to apply, as their skills are highly transferable to this role.
