Full Job Description

The Thakali Lounge and Bar is a well-established hospitality venue located in the heart of Gungahlin, ACT. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, quality meals, and strong local community presence, we are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team.

Position: Chef

Location: Gungahlin ACT 2912 Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: AUD $76000 - $80000

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes in line with the venue’s menu especially Nepalese Cuisine.
Assist in menu planning, development, and seasonal updates
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory.
Train and supervise kitchen staff as required
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

Requirements:

Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management and organisational skills
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
