The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
Student Support Services aims is to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialized support at individual, group, and school levels. Working in our Student Support Services team is deeply meaningful, highly rewarding, challenging, and dynamic and gives you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the lives of children and young people, their families, schools, and communities.
You'll work with a diverse group of people who share a common goal, and you will be well supported to use your professional skills and knowledge to provide specialised support at the individual, group, school, and area level. Our dynamic team comprises Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Behavioural Analyst, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. You will also work with other Area and regional staff, such as, Education Improvement Leaders, Visiting Teachers, School Nurses to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes in schools.
About the Role
The Department of Education is looking for qualified and experienced Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologist, Social Workers and Behaviour Analysts to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in Hobsons Bay in supporting schools to address the barriers to learning that impact on student(s) progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.
You will utilise your discipline expertise to be part of a team working in a multi tiered systems of support framework.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience
Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in Psychology, a full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
Speech Pathologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology, eligibility for SPA registration
Social Worker: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in Social Work, eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Occupational Therapist: A relevant graduate or post-graduate qualification in Occupational Therapy
registration as an occupational therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
