About the Role:

Sydney is at the center of Australia’s energy transition, and at Power Systems KSA Australia Pty Ltd, we are contributing to that transformation through advanced power system engineering and grid modernization projects.

We are looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer who can take ownership of complex high-voltage network design, analysis, and delivery across utility-scale and renewable energy projects.

You are not just running studies—you are shaping how power flows through the future grid. You will act as the technical authority bridging engineering design, system operators, and project stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Power System Studies:
Perform load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and contingency analysis for HV and EHV networks.

Grid Connection Support:
Lead technical assessments for generator and load connections in coordination with Australian network operators (DNSPs / TNSPs).

Substation & Transmission Design:
Support design review and validation of HV/MV substations, transmission lines, and protection systems.

Renewable Integration:
Evaluate and support integration of solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems into the grid.

Technical Leadership:
Provide guidance to junior engineers and review technical deliverables for accuracy and compliance.

Standards & Compliance:
Ensure all designs and studies meet Australian energy standards and regulatory requirements.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:
8+ years in power systems engineering, utilities, or energy infrastructure projects.

Technical Expertise:
Strong background in HV transmission systems, substations, or grid studies.

Software Skills:
Experience with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or equivalent power system simulation tools.

Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with Australian grid connection processes and energy market requirements is highly desirable.

Engineering Mindset:
You are analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in making technically sound decisions in complex environments.

Communication:
Able to clearly explain technical concepts to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

Pay: $14,000.00 – $16,500.00 per month
