We’re looking for an experienced Senior Medical Secretary who is proactive, approachable, and enjoys being the trusted gatekeeper to our Surgeon.

About the Role
The Senior Medical Secretary will play a key role in supporting our Surgeon and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. Responsibilities include:
- Patient liaison in person and via telephone
- Setting and maintaining our practices, processes and procedures (particularly as our practice grows)
- Managing consulting sessions and front-desk operations
- Medicare and health fund processing including ECLIPSE.
- Inbox and correspondence management
- Extensive and regular experience in theatre bookings, surgical quoting, and billing AMA rates
- Use of Gentu or similar medical software (training provided where required)
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory, WHS, and practice requirements
- Liaising with hospitals, surgeons, and surgical assistants
- Providing high-quality administrative support to specialists
You will happily utilise your proactive pragmatic skills and experience to assist the practice to provide exemplary service.
About You
We are seeking a Medical Secretary from a surgical specialist background where exceptional service, presentation and attention to detail are pivotal in their roles.
You will happily ensure the practice runs in a smooth efficient way, to ensure both the Surgeon and our patients receive the best service.
You will be a motivated and organised professional who values patient care and teamwork.
You will demonstrate:
- A minimum of two years’ extensive experience in medical secretarial roles
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A professional presentation and customer-focused approach
- The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude
- Proficiency in the tasks outlined in “about the role”
- A true team player who loves collaborating with a team and making a difference in our patients' lives

Hours/days:
- Monday and Tuesday 9:00am till 4:30pm (30 minute unpaid lunch)
- Wednesday and Thursday 8:30am till 5:00pm (30 minute unpaid lunch)
- Friday 11am to 1pm or to be negotiated -WFH
Pay rate:
$40.00 to $45.00 per hour plus super (depending on qualifications and experience)
